i am supporting mental research as having seen the devistation this illness can cause would like to see more money invested into the whys
Mental health treatment, specially medication, is many times based on trial and error. Research to understand better the fundamentals behind Mental health conditions would provide more effective treatments and better outcomes. Effective treatment would not only have a positive impact on sufferer's welbeing but would probably prove to be economically advantageous and therefore Government entities concerned with budgeting should see funding research as an investment!
Research into Mental Health is very important, especially in terms of how to recognise the onset of schizophrenia and how to manage it. From experience I can tell you it's crucial. Two of my family members were helped in this way and they became better without any input of anti psychotic medication and are leading their lives as normal.
I believe mental health research is so necessary. A lot of people are suffering and I believe more could be done to help them if only a bit more was invested towards this important field of human health.
i am a service user in a secure hospital that has a declining womens service, it is important to support individuals and their fammilies to reduce the number of addmission to hospitals.
As someone who has been diagnosed with severe depression and bipolar disorder and as a lecturer in social policy.
I work in the field and have become increasingly alarmed at the vagueness of diagnosis and the lack of on going care for those who are in need of help and support.
